The Qianjiang Bridge is the first double-deck railway and highway bridge designed and built by China. This is a great project with potential. But now there is a security risk because vehicles and pedestrians use the upper space at the same time.

In this project, a special walking path for pedestrians is designed, which is a street on water. A separate walking space is added between the rail layer and the water surface. On the one hand, it separates the flow of people and cars. On the other hand, the Qianjiang Bridge connects the two districts of Hangzhou. What’s more, the design combines local traditional activities such as "Watching the Qiantang Tide" to add a multifunctional public space, hoping to stimulate urban vitality as a unique water street.
